LG Hing (Asafoetida) - Compounded / Whole

Compounded, or Whole Hing (asafoetida) is an unrefined form of Asafoetida which is originally a root resin extracted from plants. The whole version has a slightly different flavor than the powdered form. (see below). It has the characteristic smell that Asafoetida has. Beware, use only in small amounts, as a little goes a long way!

This whole version is used by cutting small peices off the gooey slab, and used like regular asafoetida powder.

Note: It is recommended to use the powdered form in bottles (below) first if you are not used to using asafoetida (hing) powder.
