Panchpuran (also known as Panch Phoron or Panch Phoran) is a traditional spice mix that is popularly used in Eastern Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine.
It is made using five whole spices: fenugreek seeds, nigella seeds, cumin seeds, black mustard seeds and fennel seeds.
Unlike many other spice blends, panch phoran is always used whole and never ground.
