Sunda Vattal / Vathal are also known as Sundakkai in Tamil. This bush berry is most popular in South Indian cuisine. These vathals are prepared by drying them in the sun with yogurt and salt. They have a bitter taste, and are often fried in a bit of oil, and enjoyed as a condiment with the rest of the meal.
