A favourite from Punjab, Punjabi Chhole is a tangy dish of chickpeas in a spiced, thick gravy of onions and tomatoes. Cooked slowly in a special sauce, its tangy flavor goes well with pita breads and naans.

Ingredients: chickpeas, onion, tomato, water, sunflower oil, coriander leaves, ginger, ghee/clarified butter, salt, garlic, pomegranate seeds, cumin, green chilli, corn flour, coriander seed, cardamom, cinnamon, mace, caraway, fenugreek leaves, jaggery, clove and black pepper.
