Sona Masuri is the most common rice eaten in the Southern regions of India. It is a medium grain rice and has less fragrance and flavor than Basmati Rice. It is often eaten as an "everyday" rice, while Basmati is reserved for special occasions.
24 Mantra rice is not machine milled, and the semi-brown grains are extracted from its husk, bran, and germ layers without the use of electricity. The rice is also not polished by large rice mills where the rice's nutrients can also be degraded.
