Chaalbaaz

A wild and wacky story of two sisters-Anju and Manju. When Anju and Manju were six months old a maid servant at the "Haveli" (Aruna Irani) kidnapped Manju, and disappeared forever. Tribuhvan (Anupam Kher), the uncle of Anju and Manju is summoned from the village. He lets loose a reign of oppression and terror when his brother and babhi die in a car accident. Neither his niece Anju (Sridevi) or Dayal (Anu Kapoor) have the courage to protest. Far away in a small basti Manju (Sri Devi) has grown into a lovely young woman. She is a stage dancer, and has learnt at a young age that cheating is the name of the game. Manju and Suraj (Sunny Deol) meet in a bar and is love at first sight. Suraj's father Vishwanatlh (Saeed Jafrey) asks for Anju's hand from Tribbuvan for his son. Suraj thinks she's Manju and happily accepts. Now Tribhuvan and his sister-in-law Amba (Rohini Hattangidi) find no way out of this problem. They then plan to get her married to Amba's nephew, Balma (Shakti Kapoor), who has been called from the village for this purpose. Balma tries to molest Anju and she runs away from the 'Haveli'. When Tribhuvan and Amba set out to search for Anju they meet Manin by stroke of fate. In this way Manju comes into the 'Haveli'. And now begins the long, wild journey of mistaken identities. Did this journey of mistaken identities ever end? Did Anju and Manju ever meet each other if they did, when, where and how? Did Suraj and Jagu win their sweethearts? What happened to Balma?
