Narendra (Rajeev Kapoor) comes to Gangotri, a small town at the foothills of Himalayas, to escape the madness of his industrialist father's world, where political corruption rules people's lives. In Gangotri, Narendra meets Ganga (Mandakini). This girl from the Himalayas symbolizes purity, love and simplicity, and Narendra finds his soul mate. They marry and he returns to Calcutta with a promise to return and escort her to his family. Little does he know that during his absence, his father has already fixed his marriage to Radha (Divya Rana) as she is the daughter of an ambitious politician friend of Narendra's father.
