Anil Kapoor is a successful reporter who roasts the chief minister Amrish Puri in course of a live interview. Snapping back, the CM challenges the reporter to step in his shoes for a day on national television. To his surprise, Anil accepts the challenge of being the chief minister for 25 hours. Amrish Puri resigns and names Anil Kapoor as his successor. Anil takes over and begins the clean up, operating on his intuition. He starts with corrupt public servants and suspends every one of them. With just an hour to go for his term to expire, Anil Kapoor strikes at corrupt politicians and has all corrupt ministers arrested including Amrish Puri. He then calls for elections and returns back legitimately to power as chief minister. Stunned at the turn of events, Amrish Puri and gang plan revenge. Rani Mukherjee plays Manjari, the simpleton in Anil’s complex world. The sunshine when all seems dark. The laughter when there is nothing to smile about.
