Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) is the most beloved daughter of Pandit Darbar (Vikram Gokhale), renowned teacher of classical music. Into the family comes Sameer (Salman Khan), a boy of Indo-Hungarian heritage. He is a music student who wants to grasp the essence of Indian music under the guidance of Pandit Darbar. Through the course of his one-year stay, he and Nandini fall in love. When their love is discovered, Sameer is banished from the household. Sameer writes Nandini, but his letters never reach her. Meanwhile, Nandini's parents have arranged to get her married. Nandini goes through with the marriage with Vanraj (Ajay Devgan). Vanraj is deeply in love with Nandini, and asks that they stay married for the sake of the family. They live in deceit until Sameer's letters reach Nandini, and Vanraj discovers them. Vanraj shows his true love for Nandini by taking her to Hungary to search for Sameer. When in Hungary, every tip leads to a dead end. The furious search for Sameer takes a toll on Nandini, and she needs to be hospitalized. Vanraj stays with her, and Nandini sees his adoration for her. She wishes to forget the search and go home.
