Abhay
The double helix (situation) is a cliché that the world a literature and entertainment never seem to tire off. Yes "Abhay" is yet another dual role played by Kamal Hassan, with an astounding record of having made success of all the dual role films he played in (nearly 20 in all). "ABHAY" is a novel written by Kamal Hassan many years ago that was a precursor of Thomas Harris's "Silence of the Lambs." The thriller is set in New Dehli. The season is winter. Major Vijay Kumar of N.S.G. is all set to mary his newscaster girlfriend Tejaswani. Vijay Kumar has a demented brother Abhay who has been an inmate of a few mental asylums for the past 22 years. Many attempts for Abhay to be released were turned down by the Asylum authorities since they thought he was unfit for the social cirus and was most likely dangerous. Vijay and Tejaswani make the grave mistake of going to the asylum to meet his twin brother to say sorry for not being able to get him out. Vijay and Tejaswani don't know that they are responsible for unleashing hell in New Dehli and in their own lives. Abhay, like his name, is fearless. A mind without a drop of civil behavior. The human mind at its most naked form. Imagine!
